casual with a splash of dressiness

This is just an outfit I created & thought I would share it with you lot. I chose mustard, yellow & tan/orange as my colours for the outfit as these colours can be worn in any season.

Boob Tube - £3Primark
Wedges - £1! Primark (Originally £12 I think but were reduced)
Mid Length Skirt - £5
Blazer - Asos £10 I think can't actually remember
Feather Earrings - £3 Primark
Bangels and Bracelets - Can't remember sorry.

A lot of people refuse to shop in Primark due to the ethical issues associated with the brand Primark. However, most stores on the high street have some underlying ethical issues (mainly the use of sweatshops) so if we decided to boycott every store with ethical issues we would have nowhere to shop. The poor visual merchandising within Primark stores does get to me a bit, because that is the way that customers will be drawn into the store. I must say an outfit for under £25, & it definately would not look that price on !

I personally love this outfit, so it recieves a thumbs up from me :)

kw by kanye west

Kanye west has evolved greatly in terms of fashion, when Kanye first entered the music industry he wasn't seen as anything other than a music artist. But now I respect him for his taste in fashion and his music. He has such a confidence that isn't just displayed in his demeanor but also through the way he dresses. There were a lot of rumors circulating about Kanye and a clothing line, him wanting to go to CSM (Central Saint Martins) to study fashion design and not being accepted - never really knew what to believe. But I was filled with utter happiness when I heard that he was to debut his clothing line at Paris Fashion Week. I could not wait to see what it would include.  He recieved a lot of what I thought to be harsh criticism, which he did not reallydeserve in my view. I feel that most of the criticism he recieved was biased, as most people had made a judgement on the collection before it even made it's debut, because Kanye is a rapper turned designer.

A lot of the stuff I would pick up and wear out without a second thought - so it definately fits the label of "ready to wear" . I do see where some of the critic is coming from as there does not seem to be any type of structure and flow to the collection - but for a first attempt I do commend Kanye for the reason that he had no previous experience in the fashion industry and gave it his best shot which was good, but not great however.

KW by Kanye West recieves 1/2 a thumbs up from me !

givenchy blazer.

I found this image whilst browsing through tumblr, & I must say it instantly caught my eye. Usually I just flick through tumblr and its rare that anything will catch my eye like that - happens occassionally don't get me wrong. But this was just like WOW! amazing. This is the signature piece to any outfit. You could be wearing a plain jane outfit, add this jacket and look to die for.  If I could, I definately would purchase this.

This recieves two thumps up from me ;)

versace by h&m

As most of you may know by now Versace now has a collection exlusively available at H&M. Offering a designer brand in a high street store at affordable prices... pure genius I must say. Before actually looking at the collection myself I heard a mixture of reviews e.g. "it's all tacky"  "its amazing". As I've been so busy with college amongst other things I haven't had a chance to have a proper look at the collection, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. But I must say I am impressed, some of the things I would not personally wear but were really amazing.

H&M has just released its fall 2011 designer collaboration  with ersace, the iconic Italian fashion house founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace and now helmed by Donatella Versace.  The collection  includes ranges for women and men. According to the press release, the collection is inspired by the brand’s heritage, which means it is teeming with leather, print, color and “exuberance” and will be “perfect for the party season.”

I love this bag, will go with almost any thing and everything ! Costs £69.99 which I see as a definate bargin, considering that it is Versace and is 100% leather .It also comes in patent pink, but I personally think that the pink looks quite tacky (but everyones different). I love the bold/chuncky embelishments on the bag, make the bag a statement piece to any outfit.

The Pelle Borchie collection is my favourite !! Love the detailing of each of the garments, yet they all contained an aspect of simplicity to them all. I am a huge fan of studs and especially on black so I was instantly attracted to this collection.
Donatella definately recieves a thumps up from me  !

Grunge.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of people rocking that grunge/rock & roll look and I'm absolutely in love with it, i love the whole ragged/not bothered look its stylish yet laidback at the same time.Rihanna is one of many celebrities who has been representing this style of dressing fantastically, and I commend her for that because not many people can get away with wearing that style of clothing.  I feel that this style of dressing speaks volumes about a person's character, it gives the impression that they have that 'i don't give a f**k attitude' and they're a fun person to be around.
The grunge style/look defo recieves a thumbs up from me.
